Monday Apr 9 06:18pmokay so, what happened tonight feels like a milestone.
i know that we are amidst wrestlemania still, but i can’t let slide what fergal devitt, with his entrance, and his gear, meant for me.
we all know that the wrestling community has always been polluted by toxic masculinity and homophobia.
just a few years ago we had ‘gay gimmicks’ treated like comedy relief. and still today we can see comments upon comments on twitter full of hatred and homophobia.
tonight tho, tonight finn came out with a strong message. a bold one. one that could’ve been hit or miss. and it was a hit.
we showed wwe that the lgbt community is stronger than any hate. this was a test probably, and finn fought for it. for us. since the very first day.
and we all won.
i cant express how much grateful i am for fergal devitt. for his choice to stick by this and butt heads with wwe. how much his support has been fundamental for me. and for a lot of us too.
fergal and sonya deville tonight sent a message to the wwe universe and to us.
my dash was full of people speaking about how many emotions they were feeling when finn came out rocking that awesome rainbow.
we were all balor club. even people who are not fans of him.
sometimes its good to be a wrestling fan. and i have to thank fergal devitt for it.
